Meet JoAnn
JoAnn Meyer is a consultant, trainer, coach and advisor who helps people activate important changes in their lives and careers. Whether acting as a VP and leading teams towards improved processes, or acting as a mentor for early career professionals interested in learning new leadership strategies, JoAnn helps people make changes with a big impact.
Background & Expertise
JoAnn Meyer’s 15+ years of first-hand leadership experience, in roles such as frontline operations supervisor and senior executive positions, are behind her success at Previse, where she has created engaging and effective learning experiences for hundreds of workers in all stages of their careers.
Her career spans more than 30 years, and includes over a decade at the executive level in engineering and operations management for upstream oil and gas companies. She moved into management consulting spending three years with one of the largest global consulting companies to support development of their upstream oil and gas practice before founding Previse Consulting.
In addition to supporting clients to strengthen Lean and Six Sigma efforts, define and market new digital technology, and improve processes, she has expanded Previse’s focus to building better workplaces. JoAnn has authored several LinkedIn articles on creating greater inclusivity and is co-author or the subject of articles published in OilWoman Magazine and Forbes among others.
Additionally, she speaks to hundreds of K-12 students in Texas and Oklahoma each year to increase the awareness and curiosity about engineering careers to meet the growing demand for STEM talent in the workforce.
JoAnn is also mentor and classroom resource to both Rice University’s Engineering Leadership Program and the University of Oklahoma’s Jerry Holmes Engineering Leadership Program. She also advises students from other universities and early career professionals in oil and gas, consulting, and mining and minerals, to name a few.
JoAnn is an experienced speaker and panelist at events such as the Harvard Business School’s Energy and the Environment Conference, Gulf Publishing Company’s Women’s Global Leadership Conference, the Association for Manufacturing Excellence Conference, the Society of Petroleum Engineering / Canadian Institute of Mining Joint Conference.
